This Refund and Cancellation Policy applies to appointments and services booked through nycdnatesting.nyc, which is operated by NYC DNA TESTING OF THE BRONX LLC (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
By booking an appointment, paying a deposit, or requesting services from us, you agree to this Refund and Cancellation Policy.
1. General
Deposits are required to reserve appointment times and to begin administrative, scheduling, coordination, and service preparation.
Deposit amounts, cancellation fees, rescheduling fees, and no-show fees may vary depending on the type of service booked.
Appointments are not considered confirmed until the required deposit has been received and accepted by us.
2. Standard DNA Testing Appointments
For standard DNA testing appointments, a $50 deposit is required to reserve an appointment.
The deposit will be applied toward the total cost of the service.
If you cancel a standard DNA testing appointment, $25 of the deposit will be retained to cover administrative, payment processing, scheduling, coordination, and reserved appointment costs.
You may reschedule a standard DNA testing appointment at no charge with at least 24 hours’ notice.
If you reschedule a standard DNA testing appointment with less than 24 hours’ notice, $25 of the deposit will be retained. Any remaining portion of the deposit may be applied toward the rescheduled appointment.
If you confirm a standard DNA testing appointment and fail to appear for the scheduled appointment, the full $50 deposit will be retained as a no-show fee.
3. Prenatal DNA Testing Appointments
For prenatal DNA testing appointments, a $100 deposit is required to reserve an appointment.
The deposit will be applied toward the total cost of the service.
If you cancel a prenatal DNA testing appointment, $50 of the deposit will be retained to cover administrative, payment processing, scheduling, coordination, and reserved appointment costs.
You may reschedule a prenatal DNA testing appointment at no charge with at least 24 hours’ notice.
If you reschedule a prenatal DNA testing appointment with less than 24 hours’ notice, $50 of the deposit will be retained. Any remaining portion of the deposit may be applied toward the rescheduled appointment.
If you confirm a prenatal DNA testing appointment and fail to appear for the scheduled appointment, the full $100 deposit will be retained as a no-show fee.
4. Appointment Confirmation
For purposes of this Policy, an appointment may be considered confirmed if you confirm by phone, text message, email, or other direct communication with us.
We reserve the right to rely on reasonable confirmation records maintained in the ordinary course of business.
5. Application of Deposit
Where applicable, the deposit will be applied toward the total service cost.
If any portion of the deposit remains after an applicable cancellation or rescheduling fee, the remaining balance may be applied toward a rescheduled appointment, unless otherwise stated by us.
Deposits are not transferable to another person unless we expressly agree otherwise in writing.
6. Refunds
Except as expressly stated in this Policy or as otherwise required by law, deposits and payments are not automatically refundable once administrative work, scheduling, coordination, collector arrangements, or other service preparation has begun.
No refund will be provided based solely on a client’s dissatisfaction with, disagreement with, or disappointment in a DNA test result.
No refund will be provided for a no-show fee once an appointment has been confirmed and missed.
7. Payment Processing and Chargebacks
By paying a deposit or any other fee, you agree not to initiate a chargeback or payment dispute in bad faith.
If a payment is reversed, disputed, or declined after an appointment has been scheduled or services have been coordinated, we reserve the right to cancel the appointment, refuse future service, withhold results where legally permitted, or take any other action permitted by law.
8. Exceptions
We reserve the right to make reasonable exceptions to this Policy at our sole discretion, including in cases involving emergencies, scheduling errors, or circumstances beyond a client’s reasonable control.
Any exception granted in one case does not obligate us to grant the same or similar exception in another case.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update or modify this Refund and Cancellation Policy at any time by posting a revised version on this page.
Any updated version will become effective as of the posted “Last Updated” date.
